Properties that were listed for sale during the October quarter took a national median of 30 days to find a buyer, compared to 32 days the year before, according to CoreLogic.
As the graph shows, that included median sales times of 42 days in the combined regions (compared to 36 days the year before) and 26 days in the capital cities (was 30 days).
But there were some big differences in days on market at the individual capital city level, reflecting differing levels of buyer competition:
* Perth = 13 days (down from 20 days the year before)
* Brisbane = 23 days (27)
* Melbourne = 28 days (31)
* Sydney = 29 days (38)
* Adelaide = 29 days (34)
* Canberra = 40 days (42)
* Darwin = 48 days (52)
* Hobart = 39 days (up from 18 days)
