By October 2021, that had tripled to 50%, as Australia experienced one of the biggest housing booms in its history.

By January 2023, the share of owners who thought it a good time to sell had fallen to 19%, as first the growth cycle declined and then prices went backwards.

But by July, that had bounced back to 24%, as prices began rising again.

If prices continue to increase, owner sentiment is likely to keep rising, which may lead to more properties being listed for sale.
