The answer is Queensland, closely followed by Western Australia (see image), according to a survey of 1,724 investors, conducted by the Property Investors Professionals of Australia.
Other key findings from the annual Property Investor Sentiment Survey were:
* 57% believe property prices will increase in their home state over the next year, compared to 14% who believe they'll decrease
* 56% believe now is a good time to invest, compared to 24% who don't
* 56% believe their investment property will become positively geared within five years
